Heres what I have had in my Main/LAN box.

P4 1.8A @ 2.7GHz
512MB (2x256mb) Samsung PC2700 CTL Stepping DDR SDRAM
ATi All In Wonder 8500DV 64MB DDR (230/190)
80GB IBM ATA/100 HD
D-Link 10/100 Adapter
Phillips Acoustic Edge 5.1
Logitech Cordless Optical Combo
17" Dell LCD Panel (DVI - 60Hz)

Now, here is what I have:
P4 1.8A @ 2.7GHz
512MB (2x256mb) Samsung PC2700 CTL Stepping DDR SDRAM
BFGTech 128MB GF4 Ti4200 (275/444)
80GB IBM ATA/100 HD
D-Link 10/100 Adapter
Phillips Acoustic Edge 5.1
Logitech Elite Keyboard (Corded)
Logitech MX500 Optical Mouse (Corded)
17" HP M70 CRT Monitor (85Hz)

MX-500 mouse will be your best improvement.
the 8500 is hardly slower if at all than the TI4200

the MX500 is one sweet-assed mouse.. too bad the Mouseware was awful when I bought mine.. forced me into an MS mouse. I want my MX500 back.

Somewhat better I would say, depending on the game. You'd see more of an improvement in say UT2003, compared to a Quake3 engine based game. I'd say that 8500DV is quite a bit slower than the Ti4200, especially considering the 230/190 speeds. It'd be about on par with a GF 3 or GF3 Ti200, if even that.

Going from a cordless combo to a corded MX500? Hell yes. :D

The bump from 8500LE to gF4Ti certainly won't hurt either. :)
