Gaming posture/gaming chair

So after putting 35 hours into Destiny this past weekend, something I have never done ever, i found that my back is hurting. I am not a young man... I basically play on a couch and will sit back or lean forward. I am wondering if it would help to just buy one of those gaming chairs. Anyone come across something similar?

I have terrible posture and often have back aches because of how I sit when gaming. Only you can really fix your posture and I don't think any type of "gaming chair" would help.

The reason your back hurts is probably not because of the chair, but because you didn't leave it for 35 hours.

You could try doing some weight training with your core and back muscles. See what the guys in Health and Fitness below have to say.

Excessive sitting shortens your lifespan, numerous studies have shown this. Rather than look for a better chair you can spend 35 hours in weekend on, I suggest a different approach. There's no law against standing up while you game, you could also get a recumbent bike and game on that so you can get some on some additional parts of your body besides your fingers.

i think anybodies back would be hurting after sitting and playing a video game for 35 hours in 48 hours, regardless of what you are sitting on.

Excessive anything shortens your lifespan.
