Hi all,i have recently built a new pc
AMD 955 be cpu, Corsair 4 GB 1600 MHZ DDR3 RAM, some WD HDD,Sapphire 6850 gpu, Asus M4A88T-MLE mobo, Gigabyte 460 watt PSU.
It was working fine. Then suddenly after a shut down ( proper shut down by me ) it refused to boot. Window icon was appearing on the screen but nothing was happening after that. After that i tried several things and found out that my pc is booting only if i am removing and reinserting my cpu.
Between once the pc is on, it is working flawlessly as I have played battlefield bad company and black ops on full HD for more than 2-3 hours.
Some other things i want to add,
1 I did not overclock it yet.
2 There is no earthing or shorting problem as my rig is out of my cabinet and resting on my wooden pc table.
3 My RAM is error free as i have tested it with thisMemTest86+ v4.2
4 PSU is running perfectly fine on gaming load and no freezes and crashes are observed so far.
:'( Somebody please help.....:'(

1. What model is the WD drive that you are using?
2. After you have replaced your CPU like you said does the problem persists or it will happen again after another restart?
3. Need more details on that Gigabyte PSU

That PSU is showing 460W peak but it is only 348W max on its 2 +12V rails. Try removing your GPU from the slot and use the motherboard's HD4250 IGP instead. Connect it to the HDMI, VGA or DVI port at your I/O. Test this out as I would like to rule out this possibility first.

Window icon was appearing on the screen but nothing was happening after that.

From this statement I assume that you are able to at least get to the BIOS but it stops when it shows the Windows loading screen?

Yes, and as i said before whenever i am removing and reinserting my cpu, pc is booting up normally, but after shut down it is freezing at window's icon. If i am again reinserting my cpu then it is working again.

Removing & re-inserting the CPU is a pretty drastic action, & doesn't have a logical connection with a boot freezing at the Windows load screen. Freezes at this stage are usually OS or driver-related (possibly corrupted by a failing hard-drive).

I would try loading Windows in safe-mode & removing any likely culprits (e.g. video drivers), plus setting the hard-drive to carry out a full disk-check at the start of the next boot. Also make plans to back-up any important data at the first available opportunity!

When i connected my HDD to my older build, window ran perfectly fine with no freezes and as i said once the pc is on everything is running good with no freezes or crashes. Games are also running with no crashes or glitches. Do you want to say, my HDD is failing ? Is it some other way to find out ?

Your problem is odd as I have yet to see a connection between reinserting CPU and temporarily fixing the problem. I think you could test if it is the fault of the OS and/or the HDD by using Ubuntu LiveCD.

The LiveCD will run from the CD and loads itself to the RAM. If it successfully loads a couple of times without a single fail then very likely that the problem lies with the OS and/or HDD.

There's no obvious indication of a hardware error (although it could be something as difficult to find as a flakey contact/connection). Your test of the HDD on a different PC doesn't replicate the same boot environment, so doesn't help much re:booting on your newer PC (a full disk-scan for file errors and/or bad sectors is still recommended though).

Have you tried loading safe-mode to see if the problem is driver-related?

Was that a new windows install or did you transfer a drive with the OS preinstalled from a different computer?

When i tried to reinstall window on my new build. The bios was constantly freezing. Finally i had to use my old pc to reinstall window. I think the problem is with my mobo. What do you guys think ? Should i go to service center ?

Installing Windows on one motherboard and then moving the HDD to another one won't work unless you do a few tricks. When you say "the bios is constantly freezing" can you describe exactly what you mean?

When i bought my new pc i simply connected my old hdd to my new build and it worked flawlessly.
With "bios freezing" i mean that sometimes when i enter into bios settings they do not work at all. I mean bios is like hanged up and nothing work infact bios clock also appeared freeze. ( This do not happen everytime. Sometimes bios also works fine.)
When i tried to boot using bootable win 7 dvd, nothing happened again. But win 7 dvd is working when i am connecting my hdd to my old build.:'(
So i reinstalled my os in my hdd using my old pc and again reconnected my hdd back to my new build. Again the same problem, window 7 is booting only if i am removing and reinserting my processor. Once the processor is reinserted everything is working perfect. I finished black ops and portal 2 with no freezes or crashes. Should i try updating my bios or go to service center.

What kind of temps are you observing for your CPU? I've had PCs lock up in the bios when my CPU was overheating. I doubt that's the case, but it's worth a look.

Have you updated your motherboard bios to the latest version available? Perhaps it's running on an old version that isn't playing well with your CPU or other components. I'd definitely try that before RMAing the motherboard.

40-50 degrees Celcius? That's way too hot for just sitting in the BIOS. You are using thermal paste when you reinstall the CPU right?

It is not after cold start. I observed this temperature after playing some games then i rebooted my pc to enter in bios settings.
I even updated my bios to newer version. Pc started successfully after update. But when i shut down my pc again the same problem.....
