Important to know: What resolution/screen will you be playing on? (Vid card).

Some things may be overkill, like video card memory, if you are not running on high res.....

If you are serious about adding a second GPU you may want to go with a good 850w psu to give yourself some headroom for future upgrades in the GPU dept. Everything else looks fairly straight forward but I've never heard of that HSF so I'm a bit suspecious of it. I'm not much of an overclocker though so I'll let more experienced people speak to it.

As for BD? Nobody knows for sure how well they stack up against Intel. Release is getting closer so if are interested and you can wait it might be prudent to do so. I'm of the opinion BD will be lucky to even match Intel performance and probably won't but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Also, you didn't mention a budget. Knowing that would help answer some questions.

The other thing is, unless you live for tweaking, don't worry about Overclocking.

Ever since the old Celery 300's there has not been an easy "OMG" boost in performance that has spanked the pricing tables enough to warrant that much effort.

That, combined with the current power of vid cards today, it makes it difficult to warrant spending that much cash on SLI/Crossfire or on expensive cooling setups or other additions.

One tube of Arctic Silver and a properly cleaned and installed heat sink does wonders compared to stock. And dual-slotting is usually rendered obsolete in 6 months or less by a single card that would have been only slightly more expensive than one of the dual.

(I found that out a LONG time ago....).

OTOH, a monitor will last you for a good 5-8 years easy if you get a good one. Get some decent components, but do not go crazy. But get yourself a good monitor (I am STILL waiting for the 30" to come down in price a bit) and other hardware that is probably not going to be eclipsed in 6mo/1yr.
