Hello guys, I made a post in 2012 asking for specs on a decent pc. And I got it, but now it is time to sell it / box it away and get a new one.
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
I will be playing lots of games - Witcher 3, GTA V, Metal Gear Solid V etc.
I will be using photoshop, Sony Vegas.
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
I will be spending $2000-$2500AUD
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
I will be buying my parts from Australia.
4. IF you're buying parts OUTSIDE the US, please post a link to the vendor you'll be buying from.
We can't be expected to scour the internet on your behalf, chasing down deals in your specific country... Again, help us, help YOU.
I am ok with buying from multiple stores, thus https://au.pcpartpicker.com/ may be the best site to choose parts from etc. as it will pick cheapest from across all stores. If not then http://pccasegear.com/
5. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
I need to have an Intel CPU and nVidia GPU (for Witcher 3 to utilize hairworks etc.)
6. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
I will NOT be using any of my current parts.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Would like to overclock down the line
8. What resolution, not monitor size, will you be using?
1080p
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Note that it is usually not cost or time effective to choose your build more than a month before you actually plan to be using it.
Mid May
X. Do you need to purchase any software to go with the system, such as Windows or Blu Ray playback software?
I will need to get Windows 8.1, but that is it.
Thanks a lot.
