Gaming on Vista Ultimate 64

Hi and thanks for reading this. I am running my game machine on Vista Ultimate 64 with a Q9650, 8Gb, & an Asus Maximus II Formula (MIIF)

What things can i turn off with Vista to make gaming better? I've already disabled *automatic defrag* I every so often I check if it needs it...

The machine has nothing on it except for a couple of games, UT3 & COD:WAW

I've also disabled *windows defender* but are there any other things I can do to make the overhead and automatic maintenance of Vista interfere less with gaming?

Quad core and 8GB I don't think you need to do a thing ,however for gaming I recommend you install latest DX9.0C March 2009 from here.

With a system like that, I wouldn't worry in the least about what services you may or may not be running. Just Upgrade your Video Card, if needed.
