Gaming on LCD monitor

i'm not sure about "spoiling" it, but you will hate to game on it, if the LCD's total response time(fall and rise) is more than 20ms... above that and you will probably notice visable ghosting during games.

I have the 2001FP and it rocks for gaming - even at non-native resolutions - I play at 1280x960 and it upscales it very very nicely - in fact the textures are much much crisper than on my Sony 21" crt monitor - my monitor is 16ms so I guess that does make a difference.

i use both lcd's and crt's and i actually kinda prefer gaming on lcd just because of the colors. also, people overate ghosting reaaaal bad. if you want to determine ghosting, go to best buy or compusa and try it out.

As of yet, LCDs are still far from optimal in terms of gaming, especially for fps games. To get anything decent you'er gonna have to drop some cash for one as SAT did for his 2001fp.

overall LCDs are not bad as long as you can take the motion blurr(ghosting). Most LCDs have gotten better but any cheap one will only cause you headaches.

also, some games wont let you play certain resolutions and so your picture looks kinda messed up, misshaped. Battlefield is one of those games. Makes me mad but i deal with it, cause its only my laptop and not my main rig 😉

i still see the only use for an LCD is to save space, that all for now.

hoped this helps
