Hi guys,

I've got a 19 inch lcd monitor and would like to go bigger. I play HL2 at the moment but will be playing mmo's in the future. I was wondering how this 27 inch lcd tv , 8 mil sec refresh,
1280x1024 max res tv would be for that. would i get ghosting or what's the deal. The tv is 599.00 vs 24 inch dell lcd monitor for 799.00. 200 bucks is alot of dough for me whats your picks

Thanks

You shouldn't experience ghosting with 8ms refresh. The dell 24 is higher than that isn't it? (I'm asking, I don't know for sure)

Also, 1280x1024 will be nicer to your gfx card than the Dells native resolution, which you 'SHOULD' game at, also, LCD is 3inches bigger.

I haven't tried PC gaming on an LCD tv though.IMO, I'd say save $200 towards something else and get the LCD tv.

I played my PS2 on my Viewsonic LCD hdtv and it didn't look so good due to the low res. Same goes for tv and even dvd = X.

The rezz's don't go up enough IMO as the tv's get bigger. As a result, the image quality is going to be worse than on your 19. I think the 24in lcd is as big as I'd go for gaming right now.

my viewsonic n2750w 27" wd hdtv is ownage for all computer related multimedia... dont let anyone talk you out of it!

you will need a high end mouse though I think... my mx1000 wireless had a slight delay when I received my TV... had to get a razer copperhead tempest to fix

A 27in would probably be pretty good, even a 30. I take back my original claim about going for a 24in lcd. What res do you run your Viewsonic at?

its all personal experience, if you are a really finicky person and notice the SLIGHTEST picture imperfections, you will obviously be a critic when you start gaming on it.

My local store just got a 27inch lcd tv that goes up to 1332x ? or something like that. Would that be good for gaming also ? The one i was originally looking at only went to 1280x768
