Gaming Mouse and Keyboard

Hey guys, I've always used wired keyboards and mice in the past but I'm thinking of going for the wireless type this time around. I've never had a wireless keyboard or mouse and I'm curious how long they last before needing to be recharged? Couple days/weeks? Hours?

I've also seen some bundles but dont know much about them. Anyone have any experience with the wireless Keyboard&Mouse combos and would suggest one specifically for gaming?

I've looked at the G15 keyboard but I think the display would be overkill. Any sites you guys know of that list scripts/controls for the display so I can see just what can be done with it? Be cool to talk on AIM or IRC while playing or something.

personally i don't see much point in a wireless keyboard unless you actually plan on picking it up and using it from across the room. besides that's one less set of batteries you'll have to deal with.

mice on the other hand... i've been using my wireless logitech at work for several months now without changing the battery (it takes AAs). of course i'm not doing any heavy gaming there. i have a logitech mx1000 at home which lasts for a couple weeks, but is rechargeable. i've had it for a year and a half with no noticable difference in battery life. and it works great in games.

the saiteck eclipse is a great gaming keyboard, and the g5 mouse is probably the best gaming mouse... the g7 is awesome too, but studders once every week probably.

Yes, The Saitek Eclipse is amazing, not only in form but in function as well, everything is so easy and confortable to use. I can work on it for a long time and enjoy using it, and looking at it! I highly recommend it. As for a mouse...well I use a Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and while it has served me well for years, its starting to fail, which is why I bought a MX510 really cheap, we will see how that goes.
