Hey everyone, Im a total building newb, posted in General Hardware my first system build ideas under "gaming system". So far this is what I plan to get but I need a few motherboard reccommendtions:
Case: Antec Nine Hundred
Motherboard: ASUS P5E3 Deluxe/WiFi-AP LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard??, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R??
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA
Memory: Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800
PSU: Corsair 520w
Graphics Card: XFX GeForce 8800GT/ (possibly GTX, or new generation of GTS)
Sound Card: X-Fi
Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB
For the motherboard Ill take any reccommendations. What I would like to do is use it for gaming and CAD software, have a 64-bit capable platform, and use DDR2 but be upgradable to DDR3 in the future. Overclocking will be an option in the future as well (although for my first go around would just like stable performance). Really just looking for as "futureproof" as is reasonable. Thanks all.
