I've been searching for a good gaming monitor. I'd like a 19 or 20 inch Samsung display, but they all have response times of like 22 or 25 ms. So, I do want to spend $500 dollars on a monitor that ghosts or one that just plain sucks. Do I need to go with a 17 inch nstead, or a model other than Samsung? I need bang for buck. I have a mac with a 17 inch widscreen, which I love, so I don't know that I would like a 17" standard format screen, it might look to small. Any suggestion from ya'll?

BenQ displays are THE way to go. Most of the later models have 16ms or lower response times, and for 500$ you can get a nice 19-inch 12 MS (woah!) BenQ with DVI and VGA for 450$ here:

It's kind of heavy (17 lbs), but BenQ's are generally the best monitors around; I do a bit of consulting work and reccomend that everyone get a BenQ simply because they're freakishly awesome. They're also very sturdy; if you go to lanpartys you could do worse than a BenQ.
Adveau (sp?) monitors are supposed to be pretty darn good as well, but I only know BenQs. Of course, who can argue with 12ms?
