Gaming monitor suggestions!!??

I'm looking for a crystal clear monitor. Not only for gaming, but other everyday uses for school. I figured if a monitor was solid for gaming and had a good picture it would excel in excel (pun intended) and everything else. So, with that said, what are your suggestions for a solid monitor for gaming. I'm willing to look at 120hz so everything is fair game. Price range around 200-300 but willing to go over if it's necessary. Thanks!
