Hi all,

Deploying to Iraq again for the second time in August. Would like to get a laptop to keep myself entertained in the downtime. Don't want to spend more than $1500. Also, heat is obviously going to be a concern. What are your opinions on good gaming laptops in that price range, and perhaps don't overheat too badly?

Thanks for any replies :)

Whichever notebook you end up getting, it really helps to get some kind of stand for it. Doesn't even have to have fans in it - just something that holds the back of the notebook off the desk. I've done some testing with a Clevo M980NU (high end quad core with SLI GTX 280M) and just lifting the back end up an inch was good for knocking up to 5ºC off temps.
