I just noticed something. Just about every time I've installed windows, my game controlls control panel has had a different name. Once, it was "joysticks" and then "game controllers" and then this time "gaming options". What is with that?

when you install newer versions of directx...it changes the name in the control panel it seems...why...who knows
 
Someday it wil just say MS sidewinder. We will all be assimilated, I am still resisting with my Thrust Master F16-FLCS.
 
Sadly I've got a Sidewinder gamepad (got it b/c it was cheap and USB). Partially assimilited. Fighting back with Logitech nano-viruses though. They've infiltrated via keyboard, mouse, joystick, and gamepad.
