Yes CRT. It's been good to me for more years then I can remember...
Other then the 1 time it had a random line through the middle or when it first turn it on it wobbles on the edges for maybe a minute... I'm happy with it.
It'll be replaced in time I suspect...

Make sure to check if the card has dvi-I, so you can connect the crt. AMD's 290x for instance doesn't have it, so you cant use it with crt.

I'd aim a bit higher than either the 750 or 260 if you can afford it.

how much is a GTX760? or a r9 280?

Actually scratch they, they seem to be closer to 300.

There are a few 270X's that are just above $200, if you can stretch to that they seem to be the best bet.

I'd go for the AMD R7 265. I think that is probably the highest you can go without your CPU bottlenecking the GPU at its at a great price at only $150.

I think R7 270x is also an option, but I think in newer games the CPU will be bottlenecking it to a certain small degree and as we are seeing in the future most games will utilize the cpu a lot more, so even though you have quad core, its a particularly slow quad core.

So the best choice is the R7 265 which comes in at $150 and is about 15 to 20% faster than the GTX 750TI at the same price point.

the 270X will still be considerably faster than a 265, even if the processor means it won't be as fast as it might with an i7.

Thanks a bunch on everyones advice.
I'll be looking to get one of these:

Might check if anyone in the area has something equal or better on sale first.

Don't get that one, get a 2GB version. 1GB is about $10 to $15 cheaper, but the 1GB less memory is huge.

As we are seeing most games are utilizing more than 1GB, in fact newer games are all utilizing close to 2GB of memory, so getting a 1GB version would be a huge mistake.

Definitely avoid 1GB. 2GB minimum, 3GB will be comfortable with all games for a while yet.
