Has anyone gone through a time when no matter what good games are out, you just don't feel like playing anything? I have several games that came out recently sitting at my house, but when I turn on either my 360 or PS3, I just don't feel like playing anything and eventually end up in Netflix.

It happens. There are times when I look forward to playing xx game but then it shows up and I just don't feel like playing anything. Sometimes it last for a couple of days to a month of not wanting to game. But it seems when I come back I come back with vengeance lol

definitely. but usually when i'm feeling that way, and i actually do end up turning the console on, i'm playing it for like 2 hours. depends on the game too. i'm that way with sly cooper. i rarely feel an urge to play it but when i do, i play it for like 2 hours. i still haven't beaten it yet.

i also get this with online games though. but when i get that itch for some ssf4 after not playing for a while, it is like riding a bike and i don't want to put it down.

Yeah, I am hoping that Bioshock will snap me out of it. I got Gears because I am a huge fan and do enjoy it, but if my friend isn't on, I just can't seem to bring myself to play it. I have tomb raider and am about half way done and thought it was amazing, but I just can't seem to get excited to play it. I've had a lot going on in my life, my youngest just had to have surgery so I've been busy with that. Plus both my kids are getting into baseball, so I spend a lot of my free time trying to show them how to hit and play catch.

Yes, like now. Not really interested in gaming, which is weird for me. Most likely because my interests have taken me elsewhere lately.

When I just don't feel like playing anything, I usually go back to my roots. I will fire up the Dreamcast and play some Sonic Adventure, CvS2, or Powerstone 2. That usually snaps me out of whatever funk I was in.

I find that when I don't feel like playing anything, it's the most random game that pulls me out of my slump. As of late, I've played Sonic and All-Star Racing Transformed the most out of anything.

well that is cause you don't like anything.

Reading the title I thought you meant like your hands getting tired and such. I don't suffer from that though as ever 15 minutes I take a quick break over to the fridge. ;)

It seems to have happened more as I've gotten older. I guess different responsibilities in life.

I think this is what's happening to me. And when I do get on, I would like to play with friends but don't care for the game they all love to play. I've actually thought about building me a gaming rig and going that route, but I don't want to spend over $1000 if I don't want to play that much.

Not only that, but even when I DO have downtime as an "older" adult, I find that I'm finding other things to occupy my time, or that I would rather do.

But yes, in comes and goes in spurts. Often like phases. Sometimes I will be in a strategy frame of mind, and really want to play a deep strategy game. Or get involved in a deep RPG. Or play some simple platformer.

But I always come back. So I'm not worried that I'm outgrowing gaming or anything, it just comes and goes. I think that's healthy.

Maybe I can get into some single player games when I do get on. I have been playing a lot of local coop games with my girl.

I find that with myself as I've gotten older. I have more time and money to game but I don't game as much as I did in college. I'll usually just get one title and then play it to death. Sort of always been like that.

This is happening to me too. Getting older and getting more responsibilities on my shoulders. There would be times when I was in front of my Computer and I was about.to play games, suddenly lots of thing started to like playing in my mind and I suddenly lost the mood to play anything. I would just go out and hang out with friends. And one thing I realized when IM getting older is my reflex in games started to reduce. I am an hardcore cs and dota 2 player, and you need to have God like reflex to play games like counter strike. Before it took me like less then a second to react to anything, now I didn't realized that I was getting shot and before I knew it I was already pawned. Worrying...

I feel like I value my time more now than I did even 5 years ago. Working, then going to the gym, then eating dinner, etc. and then it's ~8PM. I don't force myself to stay up half the night gaming anymore so am in bed and asleep usually by around 10PM. So that's a 2 hour window that I need to fit everything else into during the week.

It seriously feels sometimes like Old School was right. Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond... I don't know if we'll have enough time.

I'm a lot like this. I don't get home from the gym until around 6, and then we do dinner and sit down with the kids. The only time I find myself really playing a lot right now is on the weekends that my SO works, which is every other weekend. But she had to work on sunday and I think I might have played for about an hour on Sunday, I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe Bioshock will be the game that sucks me in, it sounds amazing.

Maybe I'm just not that old yet, or my hours are strange. I work 730-330. Hit the gym and then have plenty of free time to do whatever. I am usually up until around midnight so I get a lot of game time in if I choose. Sadly, I should be using that time to practice my SF or MvC for EVO, but I haven' touched them in months.

Yeah might be different if I had so much money I didn't have to work. But I find even on the weekend (like Sunday) I just don't feel like it sometimes. Sometimes I don't feel like doing anything. Hard to find the right balance... I like working... just not 40hrs / wk :)

Yeah trying. I didn't get to go last year. Had to cancel my flight and hotel because of work. Got a new job now, but sadly I have been so busy I haven't had much time to practice. I think I will start again though.

yeah in reality i doubt i'll even step foot in evo. i'm going to be staying fairly close to it too. we're staying at the cosmopolitan and it's at caesars.

i just don't play ssf4 much at all anymore, but when i do play it, i am still decent at it. i just don't have the drive like i once had though. i bet if i took it more serious and went to local gatherings again though i'd get the fire again.

Yeah I was living in a city where the scene was maybe 4 or 5 people. We were close enough to Atlanta I could make Final Round with ease, but not much else. Now that I've moved into an area that isn't complete garbage, I should be taking it more seriously. I just unpacked my arcade stick this past weekend; I moved here in October. =(
