I can spend 1000-1500 on this computer i'm building (w/out equip outside the case), here's the new setup:

Asus A8R MVP or A8N32 SLI deluxe (something better in this range?) I do overclock from time to time. What if I don't plan on SLI? What is a great Asus board?
7900 GT or GTX
2G Ram
Opteron 170 or atholon x2 64 series 4400 or whatever you guys think is best


what about hard drive? Serial ATAII 7200 16x is alright right? What about Raid 0+1? Worth the money?

how about power supply? 500W+? Which brand for the buck?
 
A8N-E is based on the nforce 4 ultra chipset, hasn't caused me any troubles

2gb of ram (2x1gb)

what are your intentions with this computer? overclocking at all? etc...

fortron 450watt psu is good bang for the buck, you wont need more than 450watts

a good 7200rpm 16mb drive would suffice
