I don't think that you're going to get anything "extreme" for $1650. You also need to give us a link to the pricing in your area so that we can figure out what fits into your budget.

^ yes, those are good items to get with the extra money in your budget. The Sandy Bridge processor does have higher performance, but requires a new motherboard - this is a difficult (& personal) choice.

You should also choose a quality monitor first, because the gaming build can then be designed around the resolution/features of your monitor.

Also consider a Solid State Drive (SSD) for your boot/OS partition.

If you're not running at least a 1080P monitor, get that first. Then get a GTX 580 + 750W PSU. Then Sandy Bridge + P67, finally get 8GB of RAM.

1080p is just HD (1920x1080) old keyboard and mouse should be fine but you can get a new set if you like, RAZOR usually makes good gaming peripherals however I am not sure of their presence over seas. I prefer wired, but it is up to the individual to decide what they like best.

if i opt for sandy bridge cpu (core i7 2600k) then , should i get a new cpu fan and heatskin or the fan and heatskin provided by intel with the processor would suffice ? Also should i get any water cooling for my processor ? but i do not plan to overclock any of the parts of my computer. If i were to overclock my processor or graphic card would my power requirements increase? i am planning to use cooler master RC-690-kkn1 -GP as my cabinet which has 3 fans in it ,it is a midtower would it be sufficient for cooling my computer hardware or should i get some extra fans ,it has 6 fans capacity.

The hyper 212+ is a good after market heatsink, if you aren't overclocking there is no need however. Water cooling is not needed. If you overclock your power draw will increase be prepared for that if you decide to overclock.

If you want SandyBridge, then i5-2500k is a good choice for gaming. You can even get the non-k version if you do not want to overclock.

The CoolerMaster 690 series are nice cases with good airflow, but a mid-range after-market heatsink/fan like the Hyper212+ (good choice, mnewsham!) will help keep the processor cool in the hot Mumbai climate.

I agree totally. The i5 is already wickedly fast, that ram is plenty fast, and it saves more money for a better graphics card, monitor, or whatever. The most common mistake I see in peoples' builds is to get a really expensive cpu and a crappy gpu.

This. OP, your money would be better spent on a bigger monitor. 21.5" is quite small.

Good point. I just upgraded to a 27" samsung and it rocks!

These days if you have more then enough for a high end rig the next big question is what monitor you want.
