hello.
I want to build a gaming pc but am getting overwhelmed on what to buy.
I will be playing gtaV with mods, battlefield, destiny, skyrim and maybe some 3D modeling. I want to be able to play at a high frame rate and on high or ultra settings without worry.
No preference as far as intel or amd.
$1000-$1200 budget if possible
Overclocking able is not a must but if we can squeeze it in then cool.
Atleast 8gb of ram 16 if you guys really think I need it.
Graphics card atleast 6gb more if needed.
Is the gtx 1060 6gb a good card?
I'm completely in the dark when it comes to motherboard and power supply's...
I'm in the USA washington state to be exact.
If you guys could throw together a build for me with these guidelines for me I would greatly appreciate it. Any advice also.
I plan on building it myself to save money, that I do know how to do. I more so need advice on the motherboard processor and graphics card. Thank you!!
 
I don't build much system but AsRock and Gigabyte board served me well in the past. As for psu, I only trust Seasonic and Super Flower.

And the processor even tho a 2.8 is no slouch?
 
I don't know if you could get any cheaper for a legit win10 copy. Can you explain about 2.8 part? What kind of cpu is it?
 
Personally I would go with an 8700k build to be a little more future proof. The 1700x system is a good value to performance ratio, but if you can afford an intel 8700k and a z370 motherboard, it will stomp the 1700x in gaming and they are great overclockers. To give you an idea of the price difference, if you swap out just the motherboard and cpu, you are looking at an extra 84 for the processor (well worth it in my opinion) and an extra 65 ish or so for the motherboard. So for an extra 150 bucks you can have a top of the line processor which will beat the 1700x and be a great overclocker. You will need a decent heastink or an AIO for it though. You could get the entire 8700k setup for under 1200. Depending on how much you value cpu performance, it's something to consider. I always error on the side of caution and tend to go with something that is over kill than under performing.
