Gaming build that would last 1~2years in high options/ budget is 1400$

This is my very first build. I believe it has some errors and mistakes

-------------------------------------------------------------------
1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
My PC would mostly be used for high-end gaming and watching movies
2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
1400$ for only the tower and monitor
3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada, Vancouver(I'm planning to buy the parts from an NCIX store, not from the internet)
4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc.
I prefer Intel,
5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
Im buying all the parts
6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yup, i choose a few parts and would like to know if they are compatible with eachother and if there is a better choice, the parts are:
Hard drive:Seagate Barracuda LP 2TB SATA 6GB/S 3.5IN 12MS 5900RPM 64MB Hard Drive OEM 189.98 CAD
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57131&vpn=ST2000DL003&manufacture=Seagate
Monitor:Samsung S24A300B 24IN Widescreen LED LCD Monitor Black 1920X1080 5ms DVI VGA 229.98 CAD
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=61262&vpn=LS24A300BS/ZA&manufacture=Samsung
CPU:Intel Core i5 2500K Quad Core Unlocked Processor LGA1155 3.3GHZ Sandy Bridge 6MB 238.98 CAD
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57962&vpn=BX80623I52500K&manufacture=Intel
Motherboard:MSI P67A-G43 (B3) P67 ATX LGA1155 DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E 2PCI CrossFireX SATA3 USB3 Motherboard 130.86 CAD
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=59095&vpn=P67A-G43 (B3)&manufacture=MSI/MicroStar (I really don't know anything about motherboards)
Video card:ASUS GeForce GTX 560 DirectCU II Fermi OC 850MHZ 1GB 4.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Mini HDMI PCI-E Video Card 194.99

all of this sums up to 984.79 CAD and i need you guys to recommend me the RAM, CPU cooler, power supply, sound card(I would want a budget one right now, will buy a good one later), and case(i would prefer a big one, since im planning to use watercooling later i'll have to ask this noob question:does watercooling need a specific case?), i hope all my parts are compatible.
7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
not right now but when i have enough knowledge of watercooling and i after i install it(is this stupid?)
8. What resolution YOU plan on gaming with.
1960x1020,
9. WHEN do you plan to build it?
during this week

Thank you in advance😀

Thank you so much for the info😀
Unfortunately my parents are paranoid about buying expensive things online. I'll think about that video card.
Is there anything to be aware of while building the tower?

Lehtv's build looks good. One important think to note is that the GPU you've picked out is the GTX 560 and not the GTX 560 Ti that most people talk about. The 560 is quite a bit slower and not worth its price tag IMHO.

As for actually building it, just take your time and don't force anything that doesn't want to fit. You can always post here for help as well. 🙂

Ugh, maybe next time you'll budget for a piece of equipment that can take a decent picture. 😛

Anyways, what was the final price on that build? I am in the market for a build soon.

Yeah i used my roommates iphone to take the pic because of my own 8MP camera wasn't available immeadiately,
oh yeah and the final price was 1595 CAD for everything, tower, monitor, cables, mouse, keyboard etc...
The current HDD prices are ridiculous due to the flood in Thailand 🙁

this is very confusing, is it okay to have the connector not fully inserted? i can't get it in any more with the USB and HD audio, but the AC'97 inserts perfectly(this is wierd because the manual says that it works with the Azalia(HD audio))

I'm a little confused by what the first pic is supposed to be. You should plug the USB cable directly into the header on the motherboard. As for the audio cable, yes you should use the HD Audio one. Make sure that you've got the orientation correct.
