I don't care for Gamestop, but I hate to see PC games disappearing from retail in general. There's something about being able to hold those boxes, looking at the artwork, etc.

PC gamers don't buy from Gamestop. Since actually understand how much Gamestop sucks. This won't affect us at all, or the industry.

There common places the games are bought are at:

1. Newegg.com
2. BestBuy
3. Amazon.com

And maybe a few others, no one cares about gamestop.

My personal order is typically...

1) Amazon.com
2) GoGamer.com
3) Newegg.com
4) Steam if it's $20 or less.
5) B&M Store, but only if it's a good sale.

My best buy still has a pretty large PC section. It's actually pretty prominent, almost as big as the 360 section.

I wonder if chain stores like that track their inventory at a local level? Because some Walmarts, Targets & BestBuys have tons of PC games while others have little...

I used to buy PC games all the time before GS bought out Electronics Boutique, now that their GS I don't even know what the inside of the store is like.

Today, if I want a game I check to see whether Steam has it first or if they'll be getting it before I go out and buy it from a store because I'd rather not deal with the disc in the drive protection if I don't have to.

I tend to only buy games on sale. I never see PC games on sale at Gamestop. In fact, I tend to see 5 year old games at "bargain" prices of $30 at Gamestop, or the latest releases only at MSRP. Sad but true.

Bricks-and-Mortar retailers seem to do a horrible job of pricing games. They just stick them up on the shelves at the original MSRP and let them rot while the games decrease in value and while their prices get undercut online. I wonder what they do with three year old games that haven't sold and that are still priced at the MSRP. Also, it seems like they almost never go on clearance.

I haven't been impressed with Gamespot overall anyway- I found Forza 3 used for $54.99 or something ridiculous. I bought it on FS/T for 20 bucks..
