Gamestop Owned

Crime and PSPunishment
A Virginia man walks into a GameStop and runs out with 12 PSP Value Packs.

The frenzy over the PSP's US launch has crossed over to the wrong side of the law. According to The Charlotte Observer, a man in Charlotte, NC, decided to grab some PSP Value Packs via five-finger discount on Tuesday night. The crook reportedly moseyed into a GameStop store after the retailer received its shipment of PSPs. Then he entered the storeroom and walked out with 12 PSP Value Packs. When confronted by an employee on the way out, the thief attempted to "knock her glasses off her face" and continued on his way out of the store. The perpetrator remains at large.

$250 for that? Pfft. I'd rather pay someone to stick a white hot poker up my arse, than pay that much for something that small. I'll wait for the PS3 or Xbox2, thanks.

until the price comes down, I can't see how anyone would by these. the gameboy color's do the job, have an ok selection of games and is less than $100.

I've got a poker, and I'd be willing to administer said services for $0.99. LMK, thanks 🙂

I offer premium services for $1.99 that include a shot to the groin.

this happens everyday, and for a lot more merchandise than that.

when i worked at sears a guy walked out with a garbage bage filled with 50+ pairs of dockers.

we weren't too friendly when we stopped him.

Do you suppose you're authorized/entitled to tackle someone in a situation like that?
I think it should be allowed, if it's not already.

So they made it TOO GOOD? I guess they could have made it bigger, if you'd have then paid for it!

Good god, what? If I had the time to play a hand held gamer I'd buy one, so I'm one such person. Put this thing next to a game boy and see if you're saying the same thing. It's got about 15 million times the processing power, not to mention inevitably a better library of adult games, plus it can play music and movies.

Legally he could, as it's his property (or the store's).

exactly

Couldn't the store determine the units taken by looking at the psp's remaining in the store (via serial number on remaining units)? Then if someone registers one of the stolen PSPs, Sony/Gamestop could find out who that person got it from and prosecute...

Legally he couldn't. Use of force to protect an entity's property is not allowed by law, unless it is in self defence. The laws are different state to state, but in Texas were we can kill for a lot aof reasons this isn't one of them.
