GameStop - $50 trade off towards wii

Are they seriously allowing rainchecks on trade-ins for these? because I have a $150 giftcard for them, and if that's the case, I might as well trade in my cube and DS and come out a major winner.

There's Gameboy SP for $50 credit to a DS that I'll be jumping on. I bought my SP new for $50 on a black friday deal!

For the person who had the ps2: Why? you could probably sell it for more on ebay. For those of you who have gamecubes you could probably do the same and get as much money or more.

Do they have the lites? Noone seems to have those either.

I just got back from my local Gamestop and EBGames and they both told me that the only way they can put the deal though is if they have the Wii systems in stock because the computer automatically bumps the price down $50 with the trade in. So the Wii purchase and the trade in have to be done at the same time. I asked if I could get credit and come back when they had them in stock, they said no. Pretty crappy deal since both of the stores in my area haven't gotten any Wii's shipped in since the promotion started, and both stores said they aren't expecting any this week. Forget Gamestop and EB. I'll sell the GC on Ebay and buy my Wii from somewhere else.

Yep, this is complete Bull$hit. This is almost a scam. I live in a podunk crappy little town where people only waited in line for about an hour to get Wii's on launch day. However both the Gamestop, and EBgames say they have no Wii's or DS's, and they will not accept the offer unless they have them in stock. They KNEW they wouldn't have any, yet they run the add...why? To get you in there.
