Ok I got to run off to work so when I get back home maybe you guys will have given me some ideas.
Here is the problem. My network uses a Freesco router and a bunch of clients 2 being game machines using Windows2K. I use Gamespy3D trial version to play Counter-Strike.
The other day I installed Zone Alarm Pro on my main machine. After that Gamespy would never be able to update WON master. So I shutdown gamespy and still the same thing. Now I know it is in my system because the other game system in the network lists pages of low ping servers. So I go into the services menu in Computer Mangaement and I disable the 2 True Vector services. Now WON will update again. The box went from red to green
So I do an update again. It takes forever and when it is done it ony has about a page of low ping servers. Now I am getting ticked.
I shut down and then boot up into WindowsXP and update gamespy. I get pages and pages of low ping servers using XP on the same machine. I go back into Windows 2K and update again. Only about a page of low ping servers.
I have since uninstalled Zone Alarm and double checked the services menu and have uninstalled and reinstalled 2 different versions of Gamespy. Same problem, seems like I am missing a ton of servers.
Has anyone had this problem? I tried to figure it out all night last night and I am about to give up and reinstall 2K.
