I have been happily using 3D for several years. Is there any reason for me to bother with Arcade?

Well, does 3D have playerspy? That's about the only reason I even use gamespy arcade at all...

Then I just click on any of my friend's names to join the same server as them.

I am a registered GS3D user, but once I tried GS Arcade that is pretty well all I have used. It is much more user-friendly and has a nicer interface, including chat, but none of that is particularly significant to me, since I have had GS3D set up to my liking for a long time (though GS Arcade's auto-updating is handy).

I mainly prefer the way GS Arcade quickly polls my servers, starting with my favorites. I find I am able to get into a game much quicker and with less hassle. I still have GS3D on my system but virtually never use it.

I don't think your GS3D license carries over, but as far as I can tell GS Arcade does not require a license to be full-featured. With GS3D I felt I needed one because that was the only way to get SmartSpy, which is worlds faster to update server lists. GS Arcade seems better than even SmartSpy, as it starts by updating your favorite servers, so I usually do not even wait for the entire list of <200 ping CS servers before picking one.
