SOoooo I migh tbe smoking crack cause i thought the release date was 11-16-04 BUT
its not april fools and I cant imagine gamespot screwing up something this big..

http://www.gamespot.com/featur...ofhl2teaser/index.html

I checked some other sites and havent seen anything yet, anyone know if this is legit?

The count down says 14 hours left as of 11-12-04 @ 4am EST, so that gives us roughly a 6pm friday release ? That doesnt make a whole lot of sense either...

Launch of the second half of the article maybe? That timer will reach zero at 3:30pst, when they say the article goes up. I have no idea why they would count down to another article, they are all boneheads perhaps?

READ THE FVCKING SOFTWARE FORUM!!!!

There were copies sold of HL2 before the 11/16 release date, so if Valve holds true to their word we could see HL2 REALLLY soon!

I have read the software forum. And steampowered forums, and Hardocp forums, and Rage3d forums(until they went down), and VE3D, and HLfallout. Gamespot does not have any sort of scoop as to HL2 being unlocked @ 3:30 in the afternoon.

They never promised that. People said they promised that, but nobody from valve EVER said that they'd release it if someone broke the street date.

In fact, people who bought the game can't even play it right now since they have to activate it with steam. And that doesn't start working untill the 16th of november. So anyone who bought it now just has a nice box and a CD to look at untill next week.
