Gamesnflix

I just noticed an ad on the bottom of page 22 in the Circuit City circular for http://www.gameznflix.com. So I went there and they have DVD and game rentals for $16.99 a month.

To me this is hot because I could cancel Netflix and Gamefly and consolidate all of my rentals into one monthly fee.

Has anyone tried this?

Bump for an EXCELLENT User Name 😀

EDITED TO ADD BETTER DEAL INFO

I just signed up and it is true that a lot of their stuff is listed as 'High Demand' but I have read that their service has got a lot better in the last six months or so. They now have 4 distribution centers (PA, CA, KY...I forgot the fourth) so shipping should be improved.

To make this a better deal, enter DVDWEEKLY in the special offer section and you will get 20%+ off:

Go to www.gameznflix.com
Enter DVDWEEKLY in the special offer box at the bottom of the page
Get These Prices:

1 Out at a Time - $6.99/month
? 1 DVD/Game out at a time

2 Out at a Time - $9.99/month
? 2 DVDs/Games out at a time

3 Out at a Time - $12.99/month
? 3 DVDs/Games out at a time

6 Out at a Time - Annual - $249.00 for 12 months
? BEST VALUE! 6 DVDs/Games out at a time.

The 6 out at a time doesn't seem to be discountable.

Not a bad 'risk' for 12.99/month IMO

No contract and you can cancel at any time.

I'd give it a try, but the trial period is only 14 days, and it says there is a "limited selection available" for trial members. Who knows what that means.

I've tried the trial and it's pretty awful in terms of what they allow you to pick for the free trial. You are extremely limited. I e-mailed them about this and told them it does not create a great first impression.

I'm in MD and they mailed to me from PA. I would get 3 selections a week. Too slow for me when Netflix or Blockbuster can get stuff to you in 1 or 2 days. The only advantage Gameznflix has is that they have games. And I don't really care about that.

Wasn't too happy about their limited selection for the free trial. Their response to me when I told them about this was that I knew ahead of time that the selection would be limited. True, but not too friendly a response.

Um, so how is this hot? This is their normal price. So you created a thread just to let us know they exist?

Well, the ad was at the very bottom of the page that I thought that some people may not have noticed it. Also, I pay ~$20 for Netflix and ~$20 for Gamefly, so cutting my monthly fee from ~$40 to $16.99 seems like a pretty good deal and could be considered hot for others as well.

Your second post is more in line with the type of response that I expected... at least it contains some actual information as opposed to a stupid threadcrap.

It wasn't a threadcrap. Gameznflix, along with their prices, has been around for quite some time now. We already knew about it. It's been in Circuit City's flier before.

Well that's all you had to say.

Anyway, sorry for the repost. Just let this thread drop.

So this isn't a threadcrap? Jeez....I have to update my definition of threadcrap I guess.

If you don't like the deal, move on or at the VERY LEAST explain WHY you don't like the deal in detail in YOUR FIRST POST. If the OP hadn't called you a thread crapper, you most likely would have never explained why.

Either CONTRIBUTE to the thread in a constructive manner or STFU

Major Mullet: Thanks for the info. I was actually looking for something like this and had no idea they were around. I'll definitely look into it.

I've used them before when i first got my xbox 360, decided against the free trial, because they wouldn't let you rent any 360 games in the trial period. games took 3 days to get to my in iowa. cancelled when i sold my xbox. one thing to point out, unlike the big players, if you cancel with netflix, blockbuster & the like, they will continue your subscription until the end of the month you've paid. with gamesnflix if you cancel, that's it, even if you've paid for a full month, when you cancel you have 14 days to return the disks, they won't ship others out

Sounds like a neat idea, I didn't even know they existed. But it sounds like thier service is too subpar, so I will pass and just keep praying that netflix will start to offer games as well.

It's a great idea, HORRIBLE execution.... your limited to how many items you can have in your queue, and games are RARELY in stock. I tried them 6 months ago or so and cancelled after the first month.

I'm waiting for netflix to offer games, and I think they will sometime this year for an extra cost.

I just tried this place two weeks ago and have already cancelled. I was also hoping to get rid of other services.

Unfortunately, the "trial" is HORRIBLE--you're limited to only select titles (mostly nothing you'd ever rent). So I signed up for the FULL deal--and after putting 10 titles in my quewe, I found that only TWO titles were in stock for the two weeks I had joined. I got them, watched them and returned them, but nothing STILL was in stock. Frustrated, I cancelled my membership and am out $12.

I think this place would be great if they had more stock on hand, but for now, I'd recommend against it.

I tried them about a year ago. My experience was similar to others.

I put a crapload of stuff in my cart and, in the month that I was a member, I didn't recieve a single game. I also didn't recieve anything in the top ten of my queue.

You are better off with seperate Netflix and Gamefly accounts.

The shipping wasn't bad on gameznflix for me though. I really want something to fill my game void, since I'm in SC, Gamefly is painfully slow in the turnaround.

Anyways, stay away from gameznflix and either let them die or fix their problems first.

i had a similar experience with them about a year ago also. I thought they wouldve have gotten there act together as I was going to try them out again. I like the 12.99 for 2 games out. Great deal compared to gamefly's $21.99. But I guess I'll just have to go with gamefly which only was a 2 day turnaround since im in cali and always had the games and the wait was short if they werent. Gameznflix never got me a game either in a month and sent me the movies at the bottom of my queue. How lame.

I tried these guys when they dirst started, they took weeks to send anything and made it impoassible to quit. I had to stop payment from my CC. Good news is they sent me a game months later and I kept it as a gift for their incompatence. They never asked for it back, lol.

just about to end this after my 1st month with 3 out/time. took them about a week to receive my first 2 discs, and then took about 5 days for them to receive back. anyway, i got about 5 games so far and it's 5 days away from my first month...will quit tomorrow.

California only I think. They said they were looking into an east coast center in the next couple of years, not sure if it's ever happened.

Too bad their service is subpar.

I'm very satisfied of Netflix. They have a lot of distribution centers. There is one a few miles from where I live, so I have usually a 2 days turnaround.
I hope they're gonna carry games ASAP.

I'm a subscriber of GameFly too. The only distribution center is in CA. Too far away from where I live, Dallas-FW Metroplex area. Turnaround is about 5-7 days 🙁 .
They're kinda expensive too.
On a plus note their games are usually in flawless condition.

From their Racing page:

Go to GameznFlix.com and type in the offer code "racing"
for a special 30-day FREE trial!

FWIW:
-I joined on Sunday for the 3 at a time for 12.99 deal
-Filled my queue
-They shipped me GT4 (PS2), a PSP game, and a DVD on Monday

GT4 is ALWAYS out at my local BB GameRush so it's probably a desirable game

All three of these items were listed as 'short wait'.

Inglewood cali

But this sounds promissing for me i do both netflix and gamefly i love netflix but gamefly hase something to be desired . takes about a week 2 weeks for me to get a turnarond on games i sent in. keep the information comeing love to hear what outhers experiences are good or bad.

I have blockbuster and I keep waiting for them to add games. It seems like a no brainer to me as they already purchase and stock games for their retail locations. Netflix seems like more of a reach because that would be a whole new area.
