I recently built a computer for a guy, and he plans to game later on when he gets a video card but right now, just has integrated. What are some good games on Steam or GoG, old of course as would necessarily be, that might run on it?

Any chance KOTOR would? It's an i5 3470 on Z75.

With a lower resolution, the graphics should have no problem playing BF2 on medium settings with aa disabled as i have done this before on hd2000.

Not sure if BF2 is on steam or not,but also BF1942 is free on origin and that game certainly is awesome and should have no issues with hd graphics.

UT2004 also another old game i played on hd2000 and even on mobile hd graphics on my dm4 hp notebook plays fine at 1366x766.

I was playing Torchlight II on my ASUS Zenbook UX31A earlier, which has the Intel HD4000 graphics. I played it at 720p without AA, and everything seemed fine. However, the laptop bluescreen after awhile... yeah, it was a bit hot on the bottom. That's what I get for playing on top of a bed! :$

I'll most likely try out Borderlands 2 at some point, but I'm betting that will definitely need to run at a reduced resolution.

HD4000 is close to what? AMD's HD4770? maybe a bit more? so pre-2007 DX9 games should work on it.

League of Legends should run fine on it. I sometimes play it on my laptops integrated graphics (Intel HD 3000) at med-high settings at 1366x768 at reasonable frame rates.

Jagged Alliance 2. There are some mods for it too if he really likes it. Jagged Alliance 2 1.13. My laptop with old integrated intel 4500 runs it fine.

Yep, probably have to turn down a few of the details also :)

I played Heroes of Newerth on integrated graphics for a while. I had to turn down just about all the graphics settings to their lowest but it was definitely playable.

My laptop has a GPU comparable to the HD 2500. KOTOR was fine at 1600x1200. I was actually able to complete Deus Ex HR on it, although at 1024x768, and it was pushing it at around 25-35 fps. Mass Effect 2 was not playable.

You sure about that? EO has some of the finest graphics I have ever seen in a game. Hard to imagine it would run well on integrated graphics of the 3470.

It should. But then we are talking about reducing/turning off some of the gfx setting way down.
