Games that support more than 1 monitor

Ive been running a dual monitor system for a few months now and during yet another boring University lecture, I thought "why dont i use both monitors to play a game on?"

One of the big problems is I dont know how.... the other one is what games support dual monitors?

I know that most people dont use dual monitors but we have a thread here about dual DVI cards and I doubt most people use them... so why not? 🙂

Anyone jump in here...

There was a recent article on this subject over at Toms hardware. Best option mentioned there, IMO, would be "X2 - the threat".

I love X2 - The Threat.... Id heard about it being possible with dual monitors but never bothered looking for any info. Its a pity that it apparently doesnt let ATI cards do it... since I recently ordered my 9800P

It would be sweet for UT2004 to incorporate a multiview monitor setup where maps and other stuff would be displayed on the other monitors, while leaving the action part of the game on your main monitor.

Agreed, maybe a 3rd person view 🙂

If you're using two monitors, doesn't that make the center right between the two? Doesn't it get hard to see what you're shooting if its moving from one to the other? Seems like you need at least 3 to make it work.

Back when Matrox was trying to pimp the Parhelia, I believe it showed a game where it had the center monitor displaying what you'd see if you were just using one monitor while the other two just extended your field of view...very useful to keep betches from sneaking up on you. That'd be ideal, IMHO...3 monitors is a little pricey though, other than that I'd just want the second monitor displaying something such as a tactical map, nothing more.

Nascar Racing 2003 supports 3 monitors......middle one being straight ahead an the side two being like the windows so u can see your opponent trying to overtake......it rocks for definate feels more real!
