looking for something to play at work, huh?

MAME will run off a cd (I've done it before), but you won't be able to save.

Emulators for one.

Now when you say "not installed" do you mean copy to a hard drive without editing the registry? Or do you mean run directly off a CD?
Because you wont be able to make setting changes in Snes9X without the setting file being rewritten.

Also, a lot of the cheap games being put out by Reflexive Arcade (and others) across the internet are one big executable install file and dont need to mess with the registry.

And I have no clue what a Dell Umptyfvck XQG-444/?!# is. What kind of CPU and video card does it have?

City of Heroes, World of Warcraft? I think most MMO's have have a self contained folder that don't require external dlls or exes. I know I've completely deleted a OS partition and CoH worked. I've copied over just the WoW folders to a linux partition and was able to start the login portion. I would imagine if you could copy the folders to a DVD, you should be able to copy and play the games without installing.

Either would be fine since I don't have priveledges to install most software. I can install some software to my documents, however. I have WinRAR and Opera installed. Many installations fail because I don't have the rights to do so, though.

P4 1.8GHz, 512MB RAM, onboard video (I think)
