Games stop working showing colors and flickering after installing new CPU?

Hi.
Got 9600GT.
Switch the cpu from e2200 to e8400.
temp of the GPU was 57C,With new thermal paste got 44C.
CPU temp around 50C.
After cpu switching,evreytime im go into a game even a easy game like LFS, The all computer stop responding, Somtimes its flickering and i must restart.
Even google earth do this, I attached a picture of it.
Also google maps working really slowly.
Youtube videos, computer videos,Flash games are all OK.
One time got a error nv4_display.
Also deleted and updated new gpu drivers.
Running win xp,2GB RAM

did you change the thermal paste on the GPU at the same time that you upgraded the CPU? Chances are that is what did it.

Yeah, the gpu thermal paste wasn't applied properly or was of low quality or maybe you didn't screw the card fans and stuff tights enough, but yeah that is your problem.

I suggest you buy a new thermal paste, carefully remove the old one following online instruction manuals and put the card back together carefully, making sure you screw all the bolts and stuff tightly and correctly and try again.
