The wife LOVED this game for Xbox...are there any titles that are similar to LSL, either for PS2 or Xbox? (not 360, old school xbox)

she likes games where you have to run around and "do stuff". i think what she means is more non-linear. she has already said she doesnt want any of the GTA games... I was going to get her Bully for PS2, as this sort of seemed similar, but not as violent/consuming as GTA.

any recommendations?

I believe there was a game from the Monkey Island series on the PS2.

There really aren't any of those "classic" adventure style games anymore; there was a massive amount of them on the PC, especially from Sierra and Lucasarts years ago.

She may also like Indigo Prophecy.

Run around and "do stuff"? Hmmm....

Have you tried fable? I know it's an RPG by definition but it's certainly more action/adventure than a typical RPG.

You may want to look at getting her a DS, the touch screen is perfect for these types of games and we might start seeing more soon.

Afaik Myst is out or is coming out soon for the DS.

Oh man if you get a DS there are a bunch of choices. Although there is no real way of knowing if she will like any of those games. The adventure games on DS are pretty unique.

If you look at Dreamfall you may want to read up how well it runs on Xbox, since I don't know. I've been playing it on my PC. Do you have a good PC by the way? Because she can also play the original TLJ (The Longest Journey) off of Steam (as well as Dreamfall). Both games sport a female heroine, a good story, good characters and an adventure atmosphere.

Heh, I've played through every LSL game made. Magna Cum Laude was easily the 2nd worst of the series (next to 4 ;)).

If I were you, I would pick up 6 and 7 for her on the PC. I'd bet you can find them ~$5-10 on eBay.

not buying her a DS, and she has no desire to sit and play a PC game. she likes to sit on the couch and play.

I heard theres another LSL game in the works. Artie lange from the howard stern show is doing the voice for one of the characters.

Download Viva Pinata demo... Its not an adventure game, but women seem to dig it. There is certainly alot of "running around and doing stuff"

Agreed, it is an "action RPG," but almost everything called an RPG now only differentiates themselves from first / third person shooters by adding stats (ability points).

Eh, have you thought about going out and buying an n-64 and getting her the zelda games for the system (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask)? I highly doubt this would be a very expensive thing to do, and she might really like them. Lets face it, zelda isn't about hard core killing, but there is plenty of combat (but the graphics aren't realistic a la CoD4). I know quite a few women that love the Zelda games, and let's face it, Ocarina of Time is among the highest rated games of all times bar none. Just something to think about.

I refuse to face anything with you. You're way too eager to get me to face somewhere. Nothing good can come of this.

Hehe... sorry my writing goes down hill on the internet... especially at 4:30am!

I'm still going to have to urge you to face it though... it's necessary and makes my kitten happy!

Xbox has Syberia 1 & 2 - these are excelent adventure games that involve a lot of puzzle solving and, oh yes, a lot of running around. Plus with the female character in the main role and no swords or any kinds of weapons whatsoever, I'm sure your wife will like it.

You might want to try Beyond Good and Evil for Xbox. There is some combat, but it's fairly simplistic.

EDIT: Also, what about Tomb Raider: Legend?
