Battlefield 2 in general is running pretty bad...

windows xp pro
512*2 pc2700
3000+ A64 Athlon

I set to auto and it sets everything on medium and it says it runs at 80 FPS and at 30 ping but people skip and i lag out etc. and it seems the higher the settings the better it runs but it spikes in some moments i have drivers installed but idk if they are good ones... what nvidia video and nforce3 drivers should i get? and what tests could i run to test my video etc. i got 3559 on 3dmark05.
 
You've got quite a decent card. What kind of internet connection?
Does it do the same in singleplayer? Seems like server lag/ probs but with 30 ping IDK.
 
numbers mean nothing in BF2... just cuz your ping is low doesn't mean the server isn't going to lag.

Try the drivers at omegadrivers.net and see if you have improvement.
