Some of you may know I've recently been having problems with getting my modem to hook up to the net, so, heres my two solutions:
1. Get my new processor and mainboard installed, and hope that it was a problem with my mobo.
or, failing that:
2. Get another hard drive to keep my modem and net software on, and have the games on the other, because I was thinking my previous infestation of virii might of caused permanent damage.

My questions for yall:
1. If the modem hard drive was slower than the main hard drive, would it affect gameplay?
2. Would it even work like this, or would the computer recognize the software on HD #2 was making the connection, not allowing HD #1 to use the connection?

Ok, you have some things mixed up a little here. It doesn't matter where a game/software/driver is installed on like different hard drives, windows will find it if everything was installed properly. What does your modem do? Have you tried replacing your actual phone cable to your box on your house/apartment? Have you tried different drivers or a different type of modem (winmodem vs. hardware modem)? You are jumping to conclusions too fast and need to start simple.

1. I have not tried different drivers. Will do so tommorow, thanks for the tip.
2. The phone line is fine; I'm using it right now. I would just like to hook it to my gaming rig, thats all.
I have an HSP56 Micromodem using the PCTel chipset. Where might I find different drivers for it other than the ones pctel offers on their site?
