I have a 3500 winnie (stock), 2 gigs of ram, and a 6800 ultra. Even before I switched over from 1 gig I noticed that games would have a momentary pause in them. Seems to be getting worse regardless of what game you are playing. Example...playing Halo you can be walking and there is a sudden pause (lockup, no movement). There is a definite pattern, about every 10 secs you will have a brief pause in game play...starting to get very annoying.

have tried changing AGP aperture from 128 to 256 no help
have defragged hd no help
have used software to isolated and remove spyware...
have been told it is not a ram problem...
I have 2 sticks (1gig each) of ocz 3200 2.3.2.5....can dual channel run with just 1 stick? Not sure on that one... I use Ad-Aware SE Personal about once a week to get rid of anything that is running in the background... I haven't updated bios since I got the mb last Nov., running 77.30 drivers

any thoughts?

I had a similar problem a while back, and it wound up being vid drivers. I uninstalled the drivers, ran Driver Cleaner and installed the latest drivers. (just upgrading drivers didn't work) Been happy ever since.

If this is on an nf3 chipset I think it is a known issue. Try disabling fast writes and/or side band addressing
