Games locking up with XP...help?

Counterstrike- playable but locks up when exiting
Rouge Spear- Locks up while playing, odd noise through speakers
Max Payne- Same exact thing as Rogue Spear

This is a new computer and haven't tried a different OS so I am not exactly sure if it is XP but was wondering if anyone has been experiancing problems when playing games with XP.

I have heard about issues with XP and counterstrike.. I dont play CS so i cant help much there..

Basically, just the normal stuff is what i would try.. Make sure you have the latest OFFICIAL drivers for your vid card (not beta)

Make sure you have latest patches for the games (there is one available for Max Payne)

I beat Max Payne in win2k never tried it in XP
