Hey I have some time to kill and I was wondering if there were any cool Starcraft style games out there that are free that I could download.

In my quest to try the RTS genre a while back, I downloaded the free demos to Starcraft, Age of Empires 2, Age of Mythology, and Warcraft 3. They're all free and each offers something unique--I recommend trying all of them to see what you like!

...the trailers to the new Lord of the Rings RTS game look awesome; however, I'm not sure if there is a free demo.
