Games like Sid Meier's Pirates?

Are there any out there that are open ended and fun like Pirates? Single player, non-MMO.

there's a game that's much better than Sid Meier's game, that was actually pretty bad...

The game is Age of Pirates Caribeean sales (spelling?) the game was much more detailed, you had more control over ships, crew, weapons...and the fights were 100's of times better because it was realistic when you dropped into a combat scene, where sid meiers was that 2d thing, this game was 3d with the camera able to swap angles, etc. Game was real in the sense that if you didn't have the advantage of the wind, it could really end your day in a hurry.

Cons: game had bugs that some people had trouble with, I was able to iron most out and enjoy the game.

After playing it I never touched Sid Meier's again, and I liked that game post AoP.

Try looking for it online, my copy was $9.99
