Games like Lost Odyssey for 360?

I just finished the game and loved the storyline and the turn based battle system. Can anyone recommend any other good RPG's for the 360 that have the same battle system? I dont like the real-time battles like Tales of Vesperia etc.

Lost Odyssey is probably the best of the turned base JRPGs on the 360.

The only other decent one I can think of at the moment is blue dragon, which I think is turned base. I'm not sure since I never played it myself, but I heard it was a decent game.

What about Enchanted Arms? I think it got a bit of crap for not being as good as some other games, but I thought it was alright. There's also Eternal Sonata, which I believe is turn based. Enchanted Arms is grid-style fighting if I remember correctly (similar to games like Final Fantasy Tactics) where Eternal Sonata does have battle movement, but it isn't the same sort of grid-based combat.

Eternal Sonata isn't the same type of turn based. There are turned, but you move around during the turns and are timed. Think of it like Tales of Vesperia where only one character gets to move at a time, and they all take turns.

Eternal Sonata is also a very, very bad game that is only tolerable if you have someone willing to play it with you (the battles can be co-op)

Encharted Arms was below average, but not terrible. I got bored very fast and returned it.

There's also The Last Remnant, which is turn-based, but whose story isn't terribly interesting compared to Lost Odyssey. I also understand that there's some scaling on the encounters, which means that blindly overlevelling your characters can actually hurt you as the boss encounters can outstrip your ability to fight them.

Blue Dragon is probably your best bet, although I didn't really care for the characters or storyline. And there are some action sequences involving controls with a non-invertible Y-axis control that drove me absolutely crazy.

Like others have said Blue Dragon is only other traditional turn-based Japanese RPG on the Xbox 360. If you want more current games like this you'll need to go to the handheld systems. I don't think the PlaysStation 3 has any, and it doesn't look the Wii does either. (And the only reason why the Xbox 360 has these two games is that Microsoft paid big bucks to have them made.)

If you like turned-based strategy RPGs then you've got a few more options, but you're still much better off on the handhelds.

yeah I tried the Blue Dragon demo and did not like it. Oh well seems im stuck playing RPGs on my fat PS2. Man I wish ChronoCross would be ported and remade on the 360. WOW

I've played through both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey (years ago). Do you have any questions in particular? Though they are both turn-based RPGs I do feel like they're very different games.

For what it's worth I completed both and had a good time. Lost Odyssey was more interesting and enjoyable for me.

I like Star Ocean, although I originally bought it on the 360 and then traded it for the PS3 International version so I can could take it down from 3 discs to 1. Good game tho.

I tried Star Ocean and returned it the next day. For some reason the characters and combat was annoying. Man I wish FF13 wasn't the only FF on 360. I haven't tried it due to all the bad reviews and comments.

I know that they are not turn based but were Risen and Gothic 4 Arcania any good? I already beat Fallout 3 on PC a while back so Im probably not going to get that one.

If you liked Fallout 3, there is also Fallout: New Vegas.

You should try out FF13, the first few hours are lame in comparison to the rest of the game; if you can get past that flaw it sounds like the type of game you're looking for.

I just started lost odyssey few days ago after reading this thread, so far so good, the turn based combat is a pain sometimes in that you have to queue up ALL your teams moves before any of them act.

I loved Lost Odyssey. In my opinion in felt more like Final Fantasy than the last couple Final Fantasy Games. Great graphics, a great turn based battle system and a great story. I wish Square would get back to making games like that. Less CG and more gamplay is what I say.

Man, I'd love a Lost Odyssey 2. Story was fantastic, and you actually cared for the characters at the end!
