Hello,

Im a big fan of spell casters games like Dragon age origins,
I also played World of warcraft for 4 years, and its enough , got bored and no much time to play mmorpg games anymore..

Is there any games like Dragon age origins with spell casters gameplay ? Not skyrim ..

Thanks

Magicka is entirely about casting spells. The Witcher 2 has spells as a core gameplay mechanic, but they are complimentary to your swordfighting skills.

You can cast spells in any D&D game: Baldur's Gate 1&2, Neverwinter Nights 1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2, etc. etc.

Thank you very much .. Neverwinter nights 2 sounds cool as i see in youtube ...
i will try it ..

Martimus, Thanks for your advice too , but i hate strategy like games ... not my taste .. cheers anyway

Any dota-style game (League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, Dota 2) forces you to deal with hundreds of spells. Though these are not RPGs, and you may not like them. You can still try them as they're all free to play.

Alternatively, you can play action-RPGs like the Diablo series, Torchlight, and Titan Quest. TQ specifically has endless options when it comes to spell builds as you mix and match various classes.

Yes NWN2 would be your best bet. It is a single player RPG. The combat real time but is based on rounds. The plot is very good, especially the Mask of the Betrayer expansion pack. It has lots of magic, but instead of spamming the same spell over and over you have a wide variety of different spells with varying effects used tactically.

No problem, although neither of the games I listed were strategy games. Magicka is an action game (like Zelda or Diablo), while the Witcher is an RPG like Dragon Age.

Yeah, but you will always find that you use the same 4-5 spells on offense (disintegrate, chain lightning, fireball, greater missile storm, prismatic spray, meteor swarm and against spell casters, greater spell breach, and greater dispell magic) and 7-8 buffs (shield, improved mage armor, mirror image, greater invisibility, shadow shield, premonition, greater spell mantle, haste).

Personally I preferred being a sorcerer so I could just spam the magic out, as well as use the different skills like empower, extend, maximize, quicken etc., on the spells which allowed me to use more fireballs and more chain lightnings using some of the higher level slots like 7's and 8's which don't have good offense spells.
