I'd really like to play an RPG multiplayer. Are there any recent good RPG games out there that have multiplayer like BG2 did?

NeverWinter Nights is so vast thanks to the community module makers that you can find a far larger range of things than you ever would in BG.

You can try Icewind dale
Did a 6 person multiplayer with this in college...was pretty fun
Rather tedious though when one person would die and we'd have to start from the last save =]

BG2 MP would always crash on my computer as well for some odd reason

Even with a much greater modding community, there are still quite a number of awsome mods for bg2, such as Weimer's Mods. With the mods installed, it's almost like a whole new game. For example, with the tactics mod, tons of bosses are much much harder and take a lot more time and strategy to kill.
 
NWN2 is supposed to be more party oriented. i still enjoyed regular NWN MP very much. wasted so much time on it😀😀
 
i couldnt stand bg in multiplayer. dont get me wrong, bg/bg2 are awesome games, but the mulltiplayer was terrible. i suggest nwn... it's mp setup is alot better. graphics are better too.

but bg/bg2 are awesome games 😛

Seriously, what numbskull told you NWN1 was a disappointment, they need to have their computer confiscated and forbidden from ever gaming again.

NWN1 Diamond edition is a steal with all the content available for it. Hopefully, NWN2 will be just as good.

Yep, Diamond Edition is one hell of a steal at $19.99! Even better at $14.99 if you use a $5 coupon at Best Buy. Anyways...

I'm pretty damn sure NWN2 will not disappoint. And I surely hope Obsidian Entertianment will redeem themselves after the buggy KOTOR II

it bettter be BG2 with better graphics. that would seriously kick ass. bg2 is the gold standard, IMO, for a party-based, single player RPG

But, they do have Atari aka infogrames..... on the edge of bankruptcy... needing a hit quickly, breathing down their necks.

I thought NWN1 sucked after playing through Bg1 and Bg2 (and the Icewind Dales). It was just really boring with only one character, a big part of the fun is getting your party setup to attack and when that's not there it's just sort of empty.

The reviews coming out, including a preview from Desslock, indicate that NWN2's story will be up there with the likes of KotOR and Planescape: Torment. High praise.

The toolset is great. I've also started modeling custom meshes and have begun improving the stock character faces for a mod I plan on releasing once the export/import tools are verified 100% working.
