Games freeze when o/c, Normal?

Blurry

I raised my 1.8A Northwood up to 2.538 GHz stock cooling. When I play games, the game will lock up or freeze for one to two seconds. Is this because of heat, or is it because I need to raise my vCore.

After the 1 to 2 seconds it is fine again?? Does the system feel lethargic opening anything???

I would think this is not a power issue or heat as it would have likely froze or restarted with no clear up....

Do you have a nic or dsl card running? Make sure you have best drivers and that they are installed properly....

Any ocing of the vid card?

Does it happen in all games and apps?

What VCore are you running at now?

Does it completely lock, or just lag for a second or two and then you can play again?

Does it happen in every game you try?

See if it does that at 133 fsb. If it doesn't its probably just because you are running the agp out of spec. If that's the problem you can try locking the agp and pci slots in the bios if your board supports it or try reaching a more stable speed.
