i had an MSI Pro-2A in my comp everything ran fine, i just got MSI Turbo-R and any 3d game quake,quake3 and half life left my comp frozen. i tried reinstalling directx and video card drivers but it still doesnt work. anyone has any idea what i can do?

Did you install the Via 4 in 1 drivers? Also check your IRQ`s for conflicts, btw what video card do you have?

i installed the 4in1 thing except the CPU to PCI bridge or something like that didnt go through all the way it asked for a file i couldnt find. i have Herucles prophet ddr dvi and i am using the non beta drivers so that should be fine too. ill try today some more but i think ill just end up reinstalling the system clean.

VladFrost,do you mean PCI to ISA Bridge, that`s what it ask for on mine, anyway let Windows do the recommened search option, when I pointed to the folder where I had the Via 4 in 1(4.28) drivers it could not find them,so when I rebooted got new hardware detected & asking for the PCI to ISA bridge driver, anyway I let Windows find them & it found them in the same place "weird" & installed it.

You could try Nvidia drivers 6.50 drivers they seem fine to me,don`t forget to uninstall your old Hercules drivers first.

🙂

ok i reinstalled the operating system it still didnt help. i tried a different video card some old piss of sh1t i think savage4 and all the games work, i tried my geforce card in a different computer it also works. so let me see the turbo-r works with a different video but doesnt work with the geforce wich works in other computers wtf is that about?

Ok you may need a better PSU the Geforce DDR are power hungry,go here for Geforce FAQ .Also disable all video shadowing in Bios,go to the above link for Bios tweaks.
Also what OS are you using?if it`s Win2000 download the AMD/Win2000 patch.
