Games framerate problems.

Hi,

I recently started noticing my frame rates in gaming (SoF II) going to h3ll. It's odd because I'm running it at a modest resolution, 1024x768 but with everything on high which wasn't a problem for the start, then all of a sudden I get frame rates dipping below 20-30 totally killing the gaming experience. It's usually 1-2 seconds and happens in sucessions.

I have a Radeon (Sapphire) 9500 PRO, 1GB PC2100, Xp2000 (1800 OC'd)

Nothing has been changed except a few installation of miscellaneous software. I'm hesitant to mention it because that's what people will say it is and it could well infact be it, but I can't count how many little appz I've installed.

I'm finding lowering the resolution to 800x600 gives fair performance, but it still happens on occassion.

This appears to be the "stuttering" bug that happens to some people with the Radeon 9xxx series of cards. It might be your OC, or something else. Head over to these forums and ask around, there have been an infinite number of discussions on this topic over there.
