Games For Windows Live Beta

I'd signed up for the Games for Windows Live beta awhile ago and just recently got an email from MS saying I could dl some little game to help test out the Games For Windows Service. The thing is I don't have Vista yet (I was told I'd have it by now, but it turns out It'll be another week or so till I can get it). I was under the impression that GFWL would only work w/ Vista, however I was able to install the software in XP just fine. I don't think the service is live right now so I can't sign in to test it out, but I'm curious if it will work w/ XP.

Anyone know more about this?
 
I thought Games for Windows was the new title of the former 'Computer Gaming World' magazine? 😵
