I can't wait for skyrim, I just need to decide which console I am getting it for.

This is going to be the first Elder Scrolls game I don't get at launch since before Morrowind. I just don't have time for it so I'm going to save it for a release dead period next year.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I still have a few games I need to finish up, but I like having variety. I figure I will get it, and then can take my time with the other games. I know I can save a few bucks if I wait, but I want to be able to play it some right away.

PS2 Classics
Full Spectrum Warrior
Stuntman Ignition

Hopefully Sony will be releasing a steady stream of these PS2 games since most PS3s now lack backwards compatibility except for PS1. At $10 it's also cheaper than buying the PS2 discs even if you have a launch PS3.

I already have Odin Sphere on my to-buy list once I finish some other games, maybe by then there will be more JRPGs I'm missing like the first Shadow Hearts.

Never having played an Elder Scrolls game, how is the combat? I like Demon's/Dark Souls because it is intricate and difficult. Is Skyrim simple and easy or is there depth to it?

If it's like Oblivion, it's fairly simple real-time third-person melee combat. For my battlemage an encounter went like this:

1. cast a summon to get a little help and distract some attackers from me
2. cast an elemental damage spell
3. bash enemy with enchanted warhammer

repeat 2 -3 until enemies are gone.

Being more of an old-school gamer I have been unhappy recently with all the references to Modern Warfare 3 as MW3; my brain constantly reads that as MechWarrior 3.

All I know is after this weekend I am sure that I will have played what will end up being the Game of the Year since I will have Skyrim, Batman, and Uncharted 3.

Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection for me this week. Skyrim and MW3 when they drop in price...not interested enough in either to pay the full monty
