Games Do Not See CD in CD-ROM

Alright, I'm at my wits end with this:

Certain games require a CD be inserted in the drive to play. However when I try to play them the CD-ROM spins up but I get a "please insert disc" or "cannot find disc" error.

My specs:
A8N-SLI Premium
AMD X2 4400
CDROM = DRU-710A (primary channel parallel ATA)
HDD = Seagate Berracuda SATA

I've known one other person who built his comp and had a similar issue. Is this an issue with the CDROM? HDD? Or how they communicate with each other (data transfer mode)?
I can install games and can use the CDROM as normal. ONLY when I need a CD in a drive to play a game do I have an issue.

Thanks for any responses!

You might want to try readable English next time. Thank you.

dandtrock, first of all try whether that drive reads ANY media at all. If it does, next thing you want to do is, scan for "copy protection" sabotage software like StarForce (google it).

I've had this problem on an NForce2 motherboard. Turned out to be the NVidia IDE drivers: see if you can replace your current IDE drivers with default OS drivers.

If you're desparate & need to work around the problem, try a CD image (see LoathedSynapse's link or try Alcohol VCD).
