ok, so right now its only two games that i've tried out of my library of games, its colin mcrae rally 2005, even patched. and flight simulator x, in the ultralight aircraft thing that looks like a hanglider. whenever i boot cmr2005 it just reboots it, as soon as menu's load, and fsx, reboots in that aircraft so far that i know of. has anyone else had this problem yet? i thought it was my cpu/mobo/ram from awhile ago, so i replaced it with a whole new setup, but its still causing the same problem. its not bad ram, because i can run just about any game, without the same problem, bf2, bf2142, css, nfs carbon, nfs most wanted, eve online, and WoW, so its not the ram.

My husband has been having reboot problems when he plays Company of Hereos also. I have been racking my brain trying to figure it out.

I have set it so XP wont shut down when theres an error and looked in the error files and only errors he gets is from MS updates.

I have his motherboard Asus A7n8x set low on temp warnings and so its not a temp problem or the motherboard would alarm him.

Hes running a AMD XP 3200 1GB ram and radeon 9800 pro video card
only thing I can think is that the ram is getting weak or video card overheating.

Since sometimes he can play the game for 3 hours and sometimes just an hour.

Anyone else have any idea we could really use it LOL

Oh I forgot to mention Company of Heros is the only game he has that is doing this. He has been playing command and conquer generals zero hour now for the last 6 hours with out a glitch but this game is no where as tough on a system as the CoH

Both your systems are unstable. There can be many reasons for this.

blueeyeleo: Company of Heroes is highly sensitive to overclocking - is his machine overclocked?

Truenofan: If the problem is getting worse the more you try, it could point to overheating being the problem. Have you checked all your fans are working, and have you vacuumed all the dust out of your case?

Of course it could also be viruses, incorrect BIOS settings, weak power supply, etc.

definitily not overheading, temps never get above 50c under heavy load. this was happening on my old athlon 64 3500 system. so its not the cpu/mb, it could be ram, and it could be psu though. the psu is relativly new though, maybe a year to a year and a half old.
