well not sure if its a driver issue or combination of a few things but it might just be windows 7. Some games will play fine all the way through and turok wont, avatar also occasionally crashes, worked fine for days in xp never had crash. What should i do? ditch windows 7 all together? run windows xp as virtual machine? tried winxp compatibility mode but that doesnt seem to do anything, i going to try xp in virtual mode as soon as i get around to it (maybe 2marro after a reply from this thread?) any other ideas? its q6600 8800gts my 4 year olds pc. prob will upgrade it to gtx260 or 4850 but the 4850 i put in it didnt want to install windows 7 so i switched back to the 8800gts (seems fine to me even with only 24" lcd)

Turok and Avatar work great for me no crashes or anything in Win7 (e6750 @ 3.2GHz, 8600GTS). Must be something else causing the problems...

Make sure your DX9.0c is updated in Win7 x64(Feb 2010)http://www.filehippo.com/download_directx/ remember its for Vista,Win7 etc too,btw some games you might need to run as admin and xp compatiblility mode in the properties of the exe. of the game concerned.

DoxBox is great for those very old games,http://www.dosbox.com/ ,I have got ALL my games to run and some are very old.

might have been a dx issue. as turok has not crashed since then or maybe my 4 year old was slamming to many buttons? Avatar still crashes sometimes when i go to close the game kinda sucks but has been flawless since i installed batman?
