Daumn, I suffer with an old rig @ home. Did some gaming at work today on a 866 PIII with an ATi Rage 128.
Half Life - deathmatch @1152 x 864 with maxed settings and it was smooth!

You guys with a 3.06 P4 + radeon 9700 must be :Q:Q:Q at the frame rates you get!

haha, ya... i was slightly exaggerating, i can play sc at a pretty decent rate, but it scrolls kinda slow, specailly in the huge games

I have an Athlon XP2400+ with 1 gig of RAM and a geforce4 ti 4200, I run Bf1942 with DC mod and UT2003 at 1024x768 smooth, I could probably go higher but I don't bother I like this res. You could say I'm happy with my rig, yeah. But until January I had been on a POS celery 366 overclocked to 412 (75mhz FSB) So yeah it was a big change.

My p3-933 with gf3 is fast enough for what I'm playing now (last bit of Dungeon Siege) plus everything I plan to play soon (Mechwarrior 4, Freedom Force, Baldur's Gate II) so I'm in no hurry to move to a P4 myself. I could probably go another year or two just catching up on all the games I missed (Alice, Undying, BG2: Bhaal, ...).

D'oh! I need more time for games
